MTSIN
MTS is what Sony, Panasonic and Canon camcorders write when recording AVCHD, typically H.264 at 1080i or 1080p with multichannel audio. The files live inside a folder structure on the memory card rather than standing on their own. Convert them once they are copied off, since plenty of editing software and nearly every phone will not open MTS directly.
FLVOUT
FLV carried video on the web back when Adobe Flash Player was how a browser played anything. Flash is retired, but FLV files linger in old archives, course backups and training libraries. Moving them into a current container is the only way to keep that footage watchable on today's players.
