Terms of use

What you can expect from BigZet, what we expect back, and exactly how plans, ceilings and liability work. Written to be read once, not skimmed past.

01

The agreement

BigZet is a file-processing service operated at bigzet.com. Opening a tool, dropping in a file or paying for a plan means this page applies to you from that moment on.

If you are working on behalf of an employer or a client, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for them. If any part of the agreement does not work for you, the remedy is simple: stop using the service.

Two other documents sit alongside this one. The privacy policy explains what we record and for how long. The security page describes how the processing pipeline is built.

02

What the service does

The shape of BigZet is deliberately narrow. You supply a file, our workers run it through one pipeline, you take the result away. Nothing is stored for later and nothing is published.

Converters

Nine families of format work: images across 23 formats including RAW camera files, video across 17, audio across 10, presentations across 11, ebooks across 11 and fonts across 7, documents across the office and plain-text formats people actually exchange, archives including ZIP, 7Z, TAR, RAR, JAR and DEB, and OCR text extraction with 8 inputs, 8 outputs and more than 70 recognised languages.

Compressors

Six dedicated size-reduction tools for images, video, PDF, GIF, MP3 and WAV. Each exposes its own controls, from CRF and platform presets on video through to sample rate, bit depth and channel count on WAV.

Tools that never leave your browser

The unit converter covers 27 measurement families and calculates entirely on your device. The image editor previews crops, rotation, filters and watermarks locally before anything is sent for processing.

One boundary matters more than the rest: BigZet works on files you already hold, uploaded from your device or chosen from a cloud account you control. It does not retrieve media from a web address on your behalf and it is not a downloader.

03

Accounts and the entry tier

You can run conversions without registering. That entry tier is metered: smaller per-file ceilings, a daily job allowance, the shared queue and advertising on the page.

A paid plan lifts those constraints and requires an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details to yourself and for everything that happens under your account until you tell us it has been compromised.

Accounts are for one person or one organisation. Sharing credentials across a group to dodge the allowance counts as a breach of the rules of use below.

04

Plans, billing and renewal

Paid access is sold by the term, in euro, with any applicable VAT included: EUR 7 for one month, EUR 20 for three months, EUR 38 for six months and EUR 70 for a full year. The longer the term, the lower the effective monthly rate.

How the charge works

The whole term is billed at the start. Each term renews automatically at the same price until you cancel. Cancellation takes one click in your account dashboard and never cuts short what you have already paid for, so access runs to the last day of the current term.

The minute allowance

A paid plan has no daily cap on the number of files you convert. Individual files are subject to a maximum size, which is higher on a paid plan than on the free tier. We do not charge overage.

Withdrawal and refunds

Where consumer law gives you a withdrawal period for digital services, starting a job on a paid plan is a request for immediate performance and waives that right for the portion already delivered. Outside of that, write to us. We settle billing disputes on the facts rather than on policy.

Prices can change. A change never touches a term you have already bought, and we tell you before it reaches your next renewal so you can decide whether to continue.

05

Size ceilings and fair use

Each tool refuses anything above its ceiling at upload time rather than failing halfway through a job.

Converters, per file

Images 25 MB. Video 100 MB. Audio 50 MB. Documents 25 MB. Presentations 25 MB. Ebooks 50 MB. Archives 50 MB. Fonts 10 MB. OCR 10 MB, and no more than 10 pages from a single PDF.

Compressors, per file and per batch

Image 5 MB across 20 files. Video 200 MB across 5 files. PDF 50 MB across 10 files. GIF 25 MB across 10 files. MP3 25 MB across 10 files. WAV 50 MB across 10 files.

These numbers track the capacity we actually have and may move in either direction. Sustained use far beyond the pattern of ordinary work may be throttled so that the queue stays usable for everyone.

06

Rules of use

Use BigZet lawfully. The following ends access:

  • Uploading malware, exploit payloads or anything engineered to damage a system that opens the output.
  • Processing material you have no right to alter, copy or redistribute.
  • Processing unlawful content of any kind, child sexual abuse material above all.
  • Probing, stress-testing or attacking our servers, queues or endpoints.
  • Driving the tools with scripts, bots or scrapers instead of the interface, without written permission from us.
  • Working around size ceilings, quotas or rate limits with multiple accounts, proxies or tampered requests.
  • Reselling our processing capacity or presenting it as a service of your own.

We can throttle, suspend or block an account, a session or an IP range that breaks these rules. Where the breach is deliberate, we do that without notice and without a refund.

07

Who owns what

Your files stay yours

Uploading changes nothing about ownership. We take no licence beyond the one thing you asked for, which is running the job. Your content is never used to train a model, never shown to another user and never sold.

The platform stays ours

The BigZet name, interface, written material and processing pipeline belong to us and are protected accordingly. Copying the site, reselling it, or embedding it in a product of your own needs our written agreement first.

08

Files you bring from cloud storage

You can hand a file to BigZet from Google Drive or Dropbox instead of your local disk. When you do:

  • You choose the files yourself, inside the picker the provider supplies, and only those files reach us.
  • We never browse, index or scan the rest of the account.
  • The access token lives in the active browser session and is not written to our servers.
  • An imported file is treated exactly like an upload, including how quickly it is deleted.
  • You can withdraw our access at any time from the provider account settings.
  • The uptime and security of the provider itself are outside our control and outside this agreement.
09

What happens to a file after the job

Transfers in both directions run over HTTPS. The source file is deleted as soon as the job finishes. The output is purged within an hour of being produced, whether or not you collected it.

We do not read, index or analyse file contents beyond what the conversion itself requires, and no copy is kept for troubleshooting.

BigZet is a workbench, not a locker. Download your result while it is there and keep your originals somewhere durable.

10

Availability and warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED AS IS AND AS AVAILABLE, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Format conversion is lossy in ways that depend on the file in front of it. We do not promise that:

  • Every job produces a result that matches the original in every respect.
  • A given format pairing will suit your particular file, codec or colour profile.
  • The site runs without interruption, error or maintenance windows.
  • Capacity is available in every region at every hour.

Check the output before you rely on it, especially in professional or archival work.

11

Where our liability stops

To the fullest extent the law allows, BigZet and the people operating it are not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss of any kind.
  • Lost data, revenue, profit, contracts or business opportunities.
  • Damage traced to a corrupted, incomplete or unsatisfactory conversion.
  • Unauthorised access to material while it sits in temporary processing storage.
  • Interruption, delay or queue failure.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits anything the law says we may not limit, including liability for fraud.

12

Suspension and ending the agreement

You end this agreement by cancelling your plan and leaving the site. Nothing else is required of you.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks the rules of use, exposes us to legal risk or attacks the platform. If we close a paid account for any reason other than a breach on your side, we refund the unused part of the term.

Sections covering ownership, warranties, liability and governing law survive the end of the agreement.

13

Governing law and disputes

This agreement is governed by the law of the jurisdiction from which BigZet is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of your own country of residence still apply to you.

Before anything formal begins, write to us. Nearly everything that looks like a dispute turns out to be a billing record or a failed job, and both are quicker to fix than to litigate.

14

Changes to these terms

We revise this page whenever the service changes shape. The revision date at the top moves with it.

Material changes to billing, ceilings or liability are announced before they take effect. Using BigZet after a revision date means the revised terms are the ones that apply to you.
