FLV carried video on the web back when Adobe Flash Player was how a browser played anything. Flash is retired, but FLV files linger in old archives, course backups and training libraries. Moving them into a current container is the only way to keep that footage watchable on today's players.
3G2OUT
3G2 is the CDMA network counterpart to 3GP, defined for handsets on networks such as CDMA2000. It keeps picture and sound small enough for slow mobile data and modest phone storage, using codecs those devices could decode in hardware. Most 3G2 files today come out of old phone backups and need converting before anything current will play them.
