Send us the NEF you already have and take away a PPM. Handled on our servers, deleted the moment the job ends.
or drag and drop files here
NEF files • Max 25MB per file • Up to 10 files
Both formats, briefly
NEFIN
A NEF holds what a Nikon sensor recorded before the camera's own processing had a say. Editing is non-destructive: exposure, white balance and color live as instructions beside the original data, so you can change your mind as often as you like. Shoot NEF when the light is awkward or the frame matters. Convert a copy to JPG or TIFF when it has to reach a client, a print lab or a web page.
PPMOUT
PPM is deliberately plain: a short text header followed by raw RGB values, with no compression and no structure to parse. That is what you want when you are writing image code yourself or piping frames between command line tools, because reading and writing it takes a few lines. It belongs to the Netpbm family, next to PGM for grayscale and PBM for pure black and white. The files are enormous, so convert before sending one anywhere.
