JP2IN
JP2 is the JPEG 2000 container, and it works on wavelets rather than the small blocks of ordinary JPEG. It compresses either lossily or losslessly, blurs rather than blocks as quality drops, and can be decoded progressively or only for the region you asked for. Those properties made it standard in digital cinema packages, medical imaging systems, and satellite and mapping data. Browsers largely skipped it, so files usually need converting for general use.
WBMPOUT
WBMP stores one bit per pixel, black or white with nothing in between, and was designed for the WAP browsers on early mobile phones. The files are tiny, which still matters on hardware with very little memory or bandwidth. Phones moved on long ago, but the same monochrome bitmap is exactly what embedded displays, e-paper panels and thermal label printers work in.
