Both formats, briefly
CBZIN
A CBZ file is a comic or manga issue stored as a plain ZIP archive of page images, usually JPEG or PNG, named so they sort into reading order. Nothing is re-encoded on the way in, so pages look exactly as the scanner or publisher left them. Comic readers on desktop, phone and tablet open the format without extra setup, which makes it the safe default for a digital comic shelf. On BigZet, CBZ works as a source file: upload one and move the pages into a reader format such as PDF or EPUB.
HTMLZOUT
HTMLZ is a book packed as ordinary web files: the HTML holding the text, a stylesheet, and the images, zipped together into one archive. Nothing sits behind a proprietary container, so this is the format to pick when you want to edit a book by hand, feed it to your own publishing script, or inspect how the markup came out of an earlier conversion. Calibre reads and writes it, which makes it a comfortable stopping point between two other formats. Choose HTMLZ when the file is a working copy rather than the version someone will read.
