ZIP to TAR.BZ2 converter
Turn ZIP into TAR.BZ2
Send us the ZIP you already have and take away a TAR.BZ2. Handled on our servers, deleted the moment the job ends.
or drag and drop files here
ZIP files • Max 50MB per file • Up to 10 files
Both formats, briefly
ZIPIN
Windows, macOS and Linux all open ZIP files with no extra software, which is why it stays the default for sending a folder to someone. Compression is moderate and unpacking is quick. Pick ZIP when you care more about the other person being able to open the file than about squeezing out every last megabyte.
TAR.BZ2OUT
bzip2 squeezes a TAR bundle harder than gzip does, and charges for it in time at both ends. You will see the result named .tar.bz2 or .tbz2. It suits material you store for years and open rarely, where saved disk space is worth more to you than the extra minute of waiting.
Three steps, start to finish
Add your ZIP

TAR.BZ2 is preselected

Take the TAR.BZ2
